Today

Today I walked 2.5 miles as did I on Monday also. My body is not used to it yet! HA!
This week is pictures for the kiddos! Can't wait to see them! My little cuties....they are so precious!
Still trying to declutter 1 room at a time! Rearranged the living room furniture. Love it! Getting everything ready to paint this fall whenever it decideds to cool down so I can open the windows!
Drew has been working on his first 5th grade project on South Dakota. Mara is learning to subtract 3-4 digit numbers. They are growing up way too fast! I love getting hugs & kisses from them! Drew hasn't dismissed the idea all the way..Mara kisses me publicly all the time! She is so cute!
Dwayne had a build today with Habitat. He should be home early today! Tonight is AWANAS.

First Day of School 2010 MICS

Today Drew & Mara started MICS. Mara is in 3rd grade & Drew is in 5th. Today was a sad day for me. Every year I drop them off at school for their first day, its still the same for me....it's just as if it is the first time all over again. They are older, they're bigger & yes they have more of my heart this year than last. I had no idea what I was going to feel when I dropped them off this morning, but I just couldn't hold back the tears. Thank you Lord for such wonderful, precious gifts in my life. They are more precious today than yesterday. I want to cherish every moment with them of every day. Sometimes I am not very good at it, but I'm still learning how to be a good mom. I love you Drew & Mara more than you will ever know.

Fun Weekend!

This weekend was just so fun! Dwayne & Drew spent the night at Charlotte Motor Speedway w/ the boyscouts & Mara and I had some retail therapy in Gastonia! We headed out to go shopping after we dropped off Drew and found some cute things for now & fall. We were walking and looked up & noticed Claire's nearby and said to Mara as I always do"hey, you wanta go get your ears pierced?" She always says "no", but she really cought me off guard when she said "yes, mom, I think I'm finally ready to get my ears pierced!!!!!" I just about fell over! How exciting! She did so good & no tears! She got 14k white gold clear cz. They are so pretty. She is so pretty. She loves them & so do I.
It was such an overwhelmingly happy experience that I would highly recommend mothers stop getting their babies ears pierced......it's so much funner when they can pick & choose when,what kind, what color! So fun! I am so proud of her.

Changes again!

Well, no j.o.b. It didn't quite work out! The ole credit check got me! Anyway, I'm really happy to be home with my babies this summer...that's really what I wanted...and to not miss out on anything at school, even orientation, which I would have, but now i'm not. Yay! Want to plan some fun things to do with the kiddos. They have just rested, chilled & watched t.v. for the last few days!
Dwayne got a promotion to store manager of the Restore! He so deserved it! He's a great manager too! I love him so much!

Changes!!!

Well, there is 2 more days left of school and the kiddos are so excited. I have decided to get a job....didn't know what kind at first, but then my friend Connie talked to her "president of the bank" ex boss and he said he was looking for someone nice in the South Park Branch....so I went for an interview and now have been waiting to hear back from them. I have to say I'm a little scared b/c 1.I've never been away from my kids during the summer time when they are out of school..2.Scared about having a boss and having to report to someone..3.working with other people could be a challenge since it's been a long 10 years since I had a job! 4. I will have to put the kids in summer camp..which I know they will love(I won't)plus it's really expensive too!
The job is supposed to pay $12.50/hr which I think is pretty good for someone just entering into the work field!

Mara had field day today..which I missed b/c I chose to stay home by the phone...Big Mistake! Only rang 3 times...no one!

Drew had water day and had fun too!

I am going to try to be there for the next 2 days to spend time with them and need to plan something fun to do for Friday!

Saturday...Birthday party at Textile Lanes for Ryan & Alex!

Spent the day with Dwayne yesterday. We went uptown to the Metro and did some shopping and got him a new set of swim trunks & Clarks Flip Flops for Father's Day! He loved them & I love him!

Dwayne has some big changes at work that are coming about this month...not sure how long it will take to get things rolling. He has really been stressed out! Well, that's about it for now!

Annual Family Campout

Well, I have been preparing, packing ,doing laundry & everything else trying to get ready for this event. Praying for great weather! Lita is coming with us too....Mara is so excited. Can't wait to take lots of pics. Just hope everything goes ok.

Mother's Day

Mara & Drew...you are the most amazing children any mom could ever hope for. I love you both so very much. Mother's Day is always a joy . I'm so honored to be your mom. You both are treasures that I had always longed for. I love you!

Today my neck & back are feeling better but not completely yet. Its really hot today & sunny....which is good. We received our confirmation about the Mics Charter School by email yesterday. We are still so excited. Yesterday was Lita's B.D. We may go in this weekend & slumber with her and then jet back to Charlotte on Saturday after lunch! Planning on eating lunch with mom for Mother's Day while we are there. Dwayne & Drew will be staying here & working at the restore. Big weekend planned! Just gonna miss my hunnies.

Sunday

Well, today i awoke bright and early this morning only to find that I had the worst catch in my neck and stretching down into my back! Tried every way in the world to get comfortable, just couldn't. So frustrated about this...had to miss church because of it. Not exactly the way I had planned out today. Mara wore her new little sun dress that we got at Osh Gosh in Pigeon forge. It was just darling. Today it is very cloudy and humid and about 85 already, I think the low was 70 last night.

The Family Campout is getting closer and we are all getting very excited! Hope the weather is good & everything turns out...just hope my back and neck cooperates!

Well, the whole sugar & bread diet....hmmmm ate some grapes and a banana. Ate some homemade pizza last night and a salad. Still have not had any refined sugar ( well, I did have a granola bar) felt just awful after eating it too. Oh well, need to start working out too. :)

1 Whole week!!!!!!!

Well, I can hardly believe it, I have made it 1 entire week without sugar OR bread!!!!!!! And can I tell you I am already reaping the rewards! I feel so much better, joint pain in my left knee is diminishing, have more energy and seems like I am not as ditzy as usual! Ha! My goal is to go for 90 days...many think I can't do it, but they really don't know me that well.

Finally got our kitchen faucet fixed last night. What a pain! Water everywhere underneath the sink, ruined the cabinet. Just glad it's fixed...Dwayne put our old faucet back on...so glad he saved it!

Mara is stressed about getting braces for her teeth...when I hope this is going to be several years in the future. Bless her heart...she's been a drama queen like her mom! She got all A's on her report card...so proud of her. Love you Mara!

Drew...well, we need to work on his grades a little, but still proud son! Love you Drew!

Dwayne, is stressed out at work over a co-worker situation...hope it gets resolved soon.

This week

Well, we made it through the week! Let's see, what all happened? Drew had a huge math test on Monday that we studied so hard for...found out he made a 62...not good. EOG's are pretty soon too...a little nervous!
I started having foot/ankle pain this week which is very unusual for me....joint pain? Well, I decided to do a Parasite/Candida Cleanse, so I started Friday and I did well for the day...even felt a little better. I just haven't been feeling well lately...so I really hope this works. I think it will.

Dwayne put up floating shelves for me in the hall closet for all of my inventory! He really did a great job...so proud of him! Now, I have a really big job of cleaning out the closet and moving his stuff back in and moving the armoire and book shelf out of our closet. I know it will look great though!

Mara & I went grocery shopping together yesterday & bought lots of healthy stuff. Drew went with Dwayne to the Restore for Earthday Celebration & to sell candy bars for the boy scouts. It' s very gloomy outside right now but is supposed to be in the lower 80's.

Whew! This weekend has been a doozy! Went to dinner with our care group to the American Restaurant....had calabash shrimp, baked potato and slaw...mmmmmm....so good! The kids loved it..they had chicken fingers. The waitress commented on how well behaved they were...that makes me such a proud momma!
Church on Sunday was great! We took the 2nd graders to The Attic today. We then came home, ate lunch, then worked with Drew on his math homework only to find out that he had a test on Monday!!!!!! What? So, for the next 4 hours, we studied. I can only hope & pray he makes a good grade today. Report cards come out on Thursday...I'm hoping for a C in math....we'll see.
Today. I need to catch up on my laundry and tidy up a bit. It's pretty here today and in the 70's.

The Weekend!

Well, it's Saturday and have tons to do! Cleaning, cooking, & then get ready to go out to dinner with our SS class! I am going by to pick Dwayne up at work and then scoot off to the Americana Restaurant in Matthews, NC. Never been to it, so I am hoping it is really good!

Our Financial Peace University class was really good last night! Gazelle Intensity! Awesome! Today is sunny and going to be really hot I think! Dwayne's family comes home from FL today from a Disney Vacation.

Great Day!!!

Well, the waiting is over...we got into MIC!!!!!! We were having a party here at our house last night! Drew is going to know alot of people from scouts that made it in also! Mara, well I think she will know a few girls and all the boy scouts! Ha! We are just so excited about next fall and what God has planned for our lives! Hooray for Mountain Island Charter!!

School & Stuff

Well today it is beautiful outside and in the 70's already...wahoo! Tonight is our MI Charter Lottery and I have to say I'm a little nervous!  The Lincoln Charter was last week when we were gone for spring break, so we still don't know the results, but should find out by next week.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed....and praying alot!


 Mara has been wearing her pink polka dotted tights since Christmas with her uniforms....so funny, and this morning she insisted on wearing her winter suede boots to school.  I let her, because it wasn't a big deal, but I did think it was quite funny.  She is just my precious little girl.  :)

Drew on the other hand is starting to get picky about his clothes now, which is so unlike him and he is getting into his teen age years a little too early for me. Talking back, asking questions when he should be doing something else...whew.  It's a long road ahead!

I made a  banana split brownie today for Dwayne to take to Charlene's baby shower today, it looked so good & Dwayne said it was and that everyone really liked it! It's so easy & really fast to put together!

I have just decided that I want to go to Hawaii!  I mean really, ever since I was a little girl and watched Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I...I wanted to go. Dwayne has always wanted to go to.  And the kids, well, they never really knew that much about Hawaii until they saw the 3 part series from the Brady Bunch of them going to Hawaii and then they jumped on the bandwagon! I know lots of people that have been there and even this week a friend just visited there.  I mean it's just a vacation spot that I 've always  dreamed of. I wonder how long it will take me to get there?
